My biggest advice for you is to give yourself some kind of goal for NaNoWriMo.

A number of chapters, a certain amount of pages to rewrite, parts… just pick something.

The reason is in regular NaNoWriMo there is the 50,000 word count as a goal.  This is awesome and a pain at the same time.  It pushes you and gets you to do things you thought you coudln’t.  Without it, the first week is ok but afterwards NaNo Rebels tend to give up or back off a lot.

NaNo Rebels have no way to push themselves because they have no goal in mind.  So give yourself one.  You will thank yourself for it at the end.

I am hoping one day NaNoWriMo will do up a Rebel page for rewrites.  That one day they will include different goals to pick from or one goal they thing will help push the NaNo Rebel forward.

My goal.  Part 2 and Part 3.  This means I have to rewrite almost a chapter a day.  I will look in the next few days to see if it’s a chapter a day or a little less or more.  It will not be easy to do but it is something I can handle.  That is the point of NaNoWriMo in the first place.  It’s meant to be hard but if the time and energy is put in, you win.  🙂

SO SHOUT OUT TO THE NANOWRIMO STAFF… should anyone know them… A great goal for NaNo Rebels would be a chapter a day rewrite.  This would have little to do with word count but a 30 chapters rewrite in a month is huge and a great boost to a novel sitting on a shelf.

No matter if the staff gets the note… set your goal as a Rebel.  I did.
